- じとうてんのう【持統天皇】(645-702) 日本書紀で第四一代天皇の漢風諡号(シゴウ)。 天智天皇の第二皇女。 名は鸕野讃良(ウノノサララ)。 和風諡号は高天原広野姫(タカマノハラヒロノヒメ)。 天武天皇の皇后。 天皇の死後， 政務に携わり， 皇太子草壁皇子の病死で即位。 697年， 文武天皇に譲位後は太上天皇として政務をみる。 都は藤原宮。 万葉集に歌を収める。
